Second MICCAI challenge on cranial implant design
Please see our AutoImplant 2020 website for an overview of the cranial implant design topic. Our 2nd AutoImplant Challenge (referred to as AutoImplant 2021) sees the (not limited to) following three major improvements compared to the prior edition, besides a stronger team:
Real craniotomy defective skulls will be provided in the evaluation phase.
Task specific metrics (e.g., boundary Dice Score) that are optimally in agreement with the clinical criteria of cranial implant design will be implemented and used.
Besides a metric-based scoring and ranking system, neurosurgeons will be invited to verify, score and rank the participants-submitted cranial implants based their clinical usability (for the real cases in Task 2).
More information can be found from the design document of our AutoImplant 2021 challenge.
Participation Overview
You need to JOIN our challenge to gain access to our challenge dataset at the dataset page. You can choose to participate in one, two or all three tasks:
Task 1: Cranial implant design for diverse synthetic defects on aligned skulls [link]
Task 2: Cranial implant design for real patient defects [link]
Task 3: Improving the model generalization ability for cranial implant design [link]
To submit your results and challenge papers, please refer to the guideline. Please refer to the Evaluation And Ranking page to know about how your submissions will be evaluated and ranked.
Presentation at MICCAI 2021
AutoImplant 2021 will be held as a half-day even at MICCAI 2021 (in Strasbourg, FRANCE). To be able to present your results at MICCAI 2021, you need to submit a paper (2- 7 page abstract or 8+ page regular paper) alongside with your results. If only the results are submitted, you are unable to present your methods at the conference (We can still process your submission and list your scores and ranking on the result page). We encourage the participants of our challenge to make early preparations and submit full papers (8+ pages) so that they can be officially published (e.g., in Springer, etc) after acceptance. Even though we do have an option to accept abstract (2-7 pages), please be wary that these very short papers cannot meet the criteria set by these publishers. Paper submission guideline can be found here.
